"... Just in time for Valentine's day, the Original Costume Museum Society was pleased to present an historic fashion show illustrating and debating interpretations of femininity and attractiveness. Is that blonde woman wholesome and vulnerable or cold-hearted and predatory? Is that brunette next door the woman you want your son to marry or a vixen with an agenda? An observer gets a message from fashion, which subtly declares a woman's appeal, character and romantic ambitions.

We found out when costume historian Ivan Sayers and live models showed how style, cut, and colour have enhanced sexual attrativeness and how a woman's contribution to an outfit has an impact on her appeal..."
